BLF condemns UDM’s empty accusations against its members

Black First Land First (BLF) notes that its members in Orange Farm extension 10 (Tjovitjo) are now facing triumphed up criminal accusations by the United Democratic Movement (UDM). We are not surprised. We condemn these accusations.

It is instructive that Cde Sibonelo Zomakahle Zuma, who is the BLF leader of Tjovitjo, is contesting the LGE 2021 as a candidate for the organisation and is therefore an obvious target in these circumstances.

These accusations are part of the same white monopoly capital (WMC) agenda already expressed by Ramaphosa’s ANC, DA, and Rupert’s EFF who want to remove our people from Tjovitjo, and destroy their leader, Cde Zuma, to prevent BLF’s victory for the area in the elections (this time the LGE 2021).

Our members are not guilty of the accusations against them. We know this from the existing evidence. In fact a charge of intimidation and pointing of a firearm has been laid by Cde Zuma against UDM members at the Orange Farm Police Station under case number 236/9/2021.

We condemn any suggestion that BLF members have contravened the Electoral Act and/or the Electoral Code of Conduct.

We know that the consolidated effect of the accusations is to ultimately proscribe the existence of the BLF which is established constitutionally.

BLF supports Soweto’s call for flat rate of R200 electricity costs

The residence of Soweto have suffered enough of the electricity access crisis. This is because Eskom seeks to make profits out of electricity supply to the community. This is wrong and evil.

Energy is a fundamemtal right. It can’t be made into a commodity for sale. Black First Land First (BLF) supports Soweto’s call to pay a flat rate of R200 for electricity.

We hope that those who are opposed to this call know the following:

  1. 90% of electricity in South Africa (SA) is coal based.
  2. Coal is for free.
  3. Government pays to establish mines that supply Eskom
  4. Household consumption of electricity is about 30% (meaning we can sell 70% to industry).
  5. One company (BHP Billiton) eats 10% of our electricity and pays next to nothing for it (this should be stopped)

Coal is free. Eskom is a state owned entity. It must serve the people.

Hands Off Djo Bankuna: let the poor run their food gardens

Djo Bankuna, a Tshwane resident, has been threatened with arrest by the Tshwane Metro Police for setting up a cabbage garden through which he feeds the poor.

Black First Land First (BLF) supports urban agriculture and food production. We applaud the initiative taken by Djo Bankuna to produce food and feed the needy. The Tshwane Metro Police, at the behest of the Tshwane Metro, are involved in unethical behaviour by harassing Djo Bankuna.

It is the policy of BLF to turn all spaces into food production places. Urban agriculture and food production have proven to be successful mechanisms to boost food security as it has happened in Cuba. Tshwane metro is concerned only in growing flowers and grass. People don’t eat flowers and grass, they eat vegetables.

The Tshwane Metro Police must stop the harassment of Djo Bankuna. Hands off this agricultural warrior. Instead of harassing Djo Bankuna, the Tshwane metro should be supporting him to continue to inspire others to do the same.

BLF has today written to the Mayor of the City of Tshwane, Cllr Randall Williams, and condemned the City’s conduct of preventing the hungry from setting up gardens to produce food. We demanded that Djo Bankuna be left alone.

BLF put the Mayor of Tshwane on terms to resolve this issue failing which we shall mobilse society for direct action until the matter is addressed.

BLF voter education roll out: Take BLF to Council

BLF’s revolutionary cadres have a great responsibility towards victory in the Local Government Elections (LGE) 2021. They are hitting the ground hard armed with the party’s “15 points Battle Plan to fix the Local Goverment” and providing voter education to the people to “Take BLF to Council”.

It is only Black First Land First (BLF) that can transform Local Government into an instrument of service to the people instead of being a tool of corruption serving white monopoly capital.

From the problems of evictions, land, and unemployment, to those of the township economy, police brutality, state repression, and housing – the challenges of the well-being of the people are linked with the realisation of the BLF Battle Plan.

All the parties in Local Government having representation there, have no plan or inclination to serve black interests.

We say to our people, with your vote let’s take the power from these stooges of white monopoly capital and use it to serve the people.

Right now blacks don’t have their party in Local Government. Whites have their parties and even NGOs in government.

It’s time for BLF to take over the municipalities and metros and see to the well being of the people.

These elections are sponsored by White Monopoly Capital

The quarterly report published on Thursday by the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) on political party disclosures of donations received in excess of R100 000, strongly suggests that the hand of white monopoly capital is driving the Local Government Elections (LGE) 2021.

The ANC declared R10.7 million, the DA declared R15.9 million, and ActionSA declared R 3.3 million in donations respectively.

In Ramaphosa, Stellenbosch bought itself a President of the country with R1 billion at the 2017 ANC Naserec conference and it continues to benefit hugely from his presidency. The ruling party is in the hands of Stellenbosch which maintains its grip on the state by controlling the elections with money.

The DA is a party of white monopoly capital and the ideological leader of the ANC. Herman Mashaba, the leader of ActionSA, is a product of Stellenbosch and beholden to it.

Parties of white monopoly capital are receiving monetary incentives from Johan Rupert.

Clearly these elections will not be free and fair.

These parties are supported by white monopoly capital to subvert the democratic will of the people.

Black First Land First (BLF) is the only party that serves the interests of black people and will never be bought by white monopoly capital.

We are committed to advancing against Stellenbosch and exposing the charlatans who stunt our revolution.

Our people want change. BLF maintains its commitment to be their Loadstar to Victory.

It’s now time for BLF to take over the metros and municipalities and clean up this white monopoly capital mess.

15 Points to Fix the Local Government

How will these commitments be realized?

  1. Employ all the unemployed graduates in the city, half the unemployment rate in 5 years, and insource all jobs in the city/municipality

A Black First Land First (BLF) controlled municipality shall pass a by-law that compels both the Local Municipality and the businesses within the municipality to employ graduates. No one shall hold a post matric qualification and stay home. Furthermore, the Municipality shall be compelled by by-law to reduce the unemployment rate by half in 5 years. In this regard, yearly targets would be set. All municipality jobs shall be insourced and no labour brokering shall be allowed in the city.

  1. Stop ALL evictions of the poor; end water and electricity cut-offs for household use

A BLF controlled municipality shall pass a by-law to stop all forced evictions, whether by court order or otherwise. Where removal of people is necessary it shall be done through dialogue, consultation and persuasion. Desperate people are not criminals. Water and electricity are not commodities and must be provided to the citizens for free for household needs. Multiple measures shall be implemented to realise this objective, including alternative energy sources.

  1. Give land to the landless and municipality land to the church

All land within the municipality shall be made available to the people. Where people have already occupied land illegally, their situations shall be treated as emergencies and to this end means to regularise the relevant settlements shall be implemented. Congested spaces shall be decongested. Where necessary, to respond to housing needs land shall be allocated on serviced sites.

Land shall be allocated to all the churches that need land based on an agreed criteria with the faith based organizations

  1. Stop the use of rubber bullets on service delivery protests

A BLF controlled municipality shall pass a by-law that makes it possible to address the grievances of the people within 24 hours of any complaint being lodged via a signed petition by at least 30% of the ward voters. In the event that the people are pushed to engage in protest action, the use of rubber bullets shall be prohibited. The people are not criminals.

  1. Reserve the township economy for township people and establish a Municipality Bank

A BLF controlled municipality shall ensure that 100% of all businesses in the township are in the hands of the people of the township. BLF shall pass a by-law compelling all businesses operating in the township to be at least 51% township owned. This shall apply to all businesses from spaza shops to the Malls. Also, strict adherence to the immigration employment legislation shall be compelled. Employers cannot be allowed to break the law with impunity.

  1. Publish the housing waiting list on the public notice board, and make public the ward budget

A BLF controlled municipality shall pass a by-law to make budgeting a participatory process. Each ward shall submit its list of developmental priorities through a public participation process. Once the funds are allocated, each household in the ward shall receive a confirmation of the allocated funds by sms and letter. Furthermore a notice board bearing a declaration of these funds and the relevant line items shall be erected in the public space.

  1. 90% of the municipality budget must be spent on townships and informal settlements

A BLF controlled municipality shall make by-laws to spend 90% of the budget on the townships and informal settlements as part of bridging the apartheid spacial design and quality of amenities. These funds shall assist in developing all the necessary amenities such as soccer fields, community halls, community centers and community swimming pools, amongst others.

  1. Adopt and implement the Thomas Sankara Oath for Local Government

A BLF controlled municipality shall adopt the Sankarist People’s Local Government Manifesto which, amongst other things, shall compel the Local Government representatives to serve the people (see the Thomas Sankara Oath).

  1. Establish an Anti Racism Unit

A BLF controlled municipality shall pass a by-law which shall provide for the establishment of an Anti Racism Unit. This unit shall respond to all complaints of racism. Furthermore the unit shall be empowered to enforce the by-law and impose punitive measures against racist establishments. Individuals who commit acts of racism shall also face the total might of the law. This unit shall be staffed by at least 100 well trained anti-racism officers and thousands of anti-racism volunteers. BLF controlled municipalities shall be zero tolerant of racism for real.

  1. Provide free safe wifi for all

A BLF controlled municipality shall pass a by-law that decrees all citizens to have access to free safe wifi which ensures secure, reliable and efficient communication.

  1. Build community awareness through the arts and sports.

Arts and sports are key to the physical and intellectual health of a nation. A nation which doesn’t help to facilitate the development of its artists, is a soulless nation. Sport is the glue that keeps the body healthy and community together.

It’s time to revive the great culture of community art centers and return to school sports and township tournaments. A BLF controlled municipality shall do this.

  1. Stop the violations of immigration laws by white capital

White monopoly capital is creating black on black violence by violating immigration laws and then sponsoring politicians to divert attention from its criminality.

It’s time to focus on the real culprits by enforcing immigration laws against white capital, which a BLF controlled municipality shall do.

  1. End Gender Based Violence

Deterrent measures to prevent Gender Based Violence shall be implemented by a BLF controlled municipality, including education, restorative justice and intervention to improve the wellbeing of the people so that they take charge of their lives and hope is restored.

  1. Save the youth from drugs

Intensive compulsory measures to assist victims of drugs addiction shall be implemented by a BLF controlled municipality. Rehabilitation centres shall be well funded. The youth shall get the means to live responsible and productive lives through economic empowerment.

  1. Promote Black Love

A BLF controlled municipality shall employ measures to promote black love.

BLF welcomes ConCourt decision, Take BLF to Council

Black First Land First (BLF) welcomes the Constitutional Court’s decision on Friday that the IEC: schedules the elections on any date from 27 October to 1 November; announces the dates for its voter registration weekend within three days of its judgment; and allows citizens to register to vote at the relevant municipal offices from the date of the judgment to 10 September 2021.

BLF will be contesting the Local Government Elections (LGE) 2021 in the following areas: Western Cape: Cape Metro; KZN: eThekwini and Msunduzi; Gauteng: City of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, Lesedi, Emfuleni, and Sedibeng; and North West: JB Marks

BLF is still the only organisation that stands for black people. Our supporters can now register to vote and update their voter details until 10 September.

The failure of the African National Congress (ANC) government to end white rule in South Africa (SA) is what manifests as the current self destruction of the ANC and the defeat of the Radical Economic Transformation (RET) forces by the Stellenbosch sponsored agenda of Ramaphosa.

BLF is unapologetically on the side of the RET forces and we have consistently led the battle against the WMC backed New Dawn of Ramaphosa. We are advancing the RET agenda in the LGE 2021 as a minimum program of resistance against WMC hegemony. RET will only be implemented and protected by BLF. Anyone who supports RET must vote BLF. We must take over the Metros and Municipalities and end this mess.

If you don’t like what’s happening, register to vote and vote BLF in the LGE 2021.

We call on our people to #TakeBLFtoCouncil by voting BLF and donating towards the expenses to contest the elections. Any sum of money donated will be appreciated. Deposits can be made into our bank account, details of which are as follows:
