Black First Land First (BLF-WC) condemns the killing of comrade Songezo Ndude by the racist Democratic Alliance (DA) led provincial government. The senseless deployment of South African Police Services (SAPS), when our people simply want the return of land and basic services like electricity, housing and water, saw the brutal killing of comrade Songezo Ndude and it is unforgivable.
The struggle for land in Imizamo Yethu and further for basic services after the recent fires, is based on a national collective call for dignity for black people. The DA led government has shown time and time again that it wills to maintain our people as landless, living in squalor and in poverty at all costs, even taking our lives.
BLF-WC sends condolences to the family, friends, and comrades of Songezo Ndude and commits to continue to struggle for land with the community of Imizamo Yethu.
BLF-WC further reminds mother Patricia de Lille that if it was not for the racist DA led government, who was quick to mobilize resources and intervention from racist banks for the white wealthy community of Knysna, yet slow to act justly for the community of Imizamo Yethu, comrade Ndude would not have been brutally killed. His blood is on the hands of the racist DA. We continue to appeal to the conscious of this former Pan Afrikanist, to reject the DA racist policies and returns to the commitment of “Peace amongst the Afrikans, War against the enemy!”
BLF-WC further warns the racist DA led government that just as the struggle for land return has claimed the lives of our people who struggle for land, we will respond by intensifying the land struggle to see it through by any means necessary.
Power to the People of Imizamo Yethu!
BLF-WC salutes martyr Sogezo Ndude!
