BLF STATEMENT ON HIGHER EDUCATION FUNDING: BLADE HERE IS THE MONEY FOR FREE EDUCATION

FB_IMG_1445349414929
Black First Land First (BLF) notes how the Minister of Higher Education and Training Blade Nzimande went on the news media yesterday saying that the government has insufficient funds to match the current demand for higher education funding.

We point the Minister to the recently released corruption report by BLF detailing the extent to which white monopoly capital has gotten away with stealing billions of rands under the watch of the ANC government.

There is billions of rands available and recoverable immediately to make education black first and free.

If the ANC government can keep quiet about recovering the R563 billion (of which R141 billion is recoverable immediately and R26 billion was recoverable as in yesterday) that white capital has stolen from blacks in the decade leading up to 1994 and slightly beyond, this means that they have now gifted white capital with the monies that it has stolen, including the R422 billion stolen as capital flight and deposited in offshore accounts under the watch of Former President Thabo Mbeki.

This situation cannot prevail – not under the watch of the BLF – especially because recovering that money will mean the beginning of addressing colonial theft,  which inturn will translate into black first FREE education. It will translate into black first land first.

BLF also supports the planned national shutdown of Universities today. We say President Jacob Zuma must speak now!

As the President of the ruling party and the state, we demand the President declare free education now! Zuma must withdraw police from universities. He must drop all charges against students.

We call on the students to shutdown Universities. We call on the nation to shutdown South Africa!

#‎WhiteCapitalMustFall‬ ‪so that #‎FeesMustFall‬.
