Black First Land First (BLF), condemns the unholy alliance between university management and the ANC government to repress the legitimate student protests for free education. It’s the ANC policies that have turned education into a commodity for sale. It’s ANC policy that under funds Universities.
It’s the Vice Chancellors and University management that enforce the ANC policies of excluding poor black students. The ANC and University management are criminalising the student protest for access to education.
The right to education is a fundamental right recognised even by the liberal South African constitution, therefore how can struggle for access to education be a criminal matter? The court system is also being mobilised to criminalise students to legitimise police violence. We call on our judges to refuse to be used by the colonial Universities.
The ANC and the VC’s alliance to exclude students must be broken.
We call upon SASCO and the Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) to immediately delink itself from the ANC or take responsibility for the policy of excluding blacks from the university and police brutality.
It’s their ANC’s policies that exclude the poor. It’s ANC police that repress the students who demand justice. SASCO and PYA can’t play for both sides, it is either with the students or against them.
Police out of our Campuses! No fees increases! No outsourcing! No compromise! No negotiations! No collaboration with agents of neo-colonialism
